The Lynlan girls had a fantastic day in "Play for Purple" on 26th March supporting Do it! For Cancer at Toronto Country Club.

Our Lynlan team of Lanna, Christine, Lexie and Carolyn played in the Ambrose event under beautiful Autumn sunshine (which was certainly a welcome change from the constant rain of the last few weeks!!). With the high humidity we felt more like we were in the tropics than western Lake Macquarie NSW.

Congratulations to all the members from Toronto who put in such a great effort organising this successful and fun day.

The field was a sea of Purple showing their support for the Do it for cancer charity for Pancreatic cancer which is a terrible disease.

After teeing off on the 18th hole we lost our Purple ball on the 2nd hole we played, stolen by a cheeky crow! For $5 we secured another Purple ball only to lose it on the subsequent hole in the mud. So our chances of entering the purple ball draw were dashed early in the day.

Team tactics were a hot topic of discussion during the round, deciding on which holes to use the long hitters' tee shots with 3 per player being compulsory.

Unfortunately no one on our team succeeded in the nearest to pin, longest drive or longest holed out putt competitions. The compulsory fishing contest was a fun inclusion at the 14th hole tee and we each donated our $5 leaving the expert fisherman in charge of the fishing rod.

Our net score of 65 wasn't good enough to match the winning score of 57 which was a fabulous result. Congratulations to the winning team!

The atmosphere in the clubhouse afterwards was jovial and everyone enjoyed the sausage sizzle, fun auctions and raffle draw.

Thanks again to everyone at Toronto, and we look forward to playing with you again soon.

Happy Golfing.
